Redland Cambrian Slates
The Redland interlocking Cambrian Slates which are well known for being manufactured from recycled natural Welsh slate, have had their environmental credentials officially recognised by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) . Whilst resin-based slates in general have a C-rating in the BRE’s Green Guide to Specification, Redland Cambrians were independently evaluated to achieve an outstanding A-rating in 2006, through the BRE’s Environmental Profiles scheme. Therefore specifiers looking for a sustainable slate now need look no further than Cambrian if the recycled content is a priority. Recycled natural Welsh slate makes up 60% of every Cambrian manufactured at Redland’s plant in Wales itself, to achieve the timeless look of a classic roof in three colour options that will actually improve with age – just like the real thing. Unlike traditional natural slates however, the modern interlocking Cambrians are manufactured to meet the latest standards for performance proven on pitches as low as 15°. Whilst light in weight with one of the thinnest leading edges, the Cambrian Slate’s unique three-point fixing makes it suitable for even the most exposed sites. Cambrians installed with the recommended fixings according to BS 5534 and with any of the comprehensive matching accessories, ensure that the whole roof is backed by the unique Redland 15 Year Roof System Guarantee.
