Ecoplay is a unique
water management system, which collects bath and shower
water and re-uses it for toilet flushing. Ecoplay reduces
mains water consumption and drainage in a typical household
by up to 30% and in turn helps to save money on water and
sewage bills in metered homes.
The system consists of a cleaning tank and a storage tank.
Bath and shower water is cleaned by utilising the difference
in weight of the particles in the cleaning tank. Soap, hairs
etc rise to the top of the tank and are skimmed off directly
to the waste pipe. Heavier particles such as sand and grit
fall to the bottom of the tank. The clean water in the cleaning
tank is then transferred to the storage tank, ready to flush
the toilets.
The design of the cleaning system means that there are no
filters to be maintained or replaced. The innovative design
includes an intelligent processing unit that balances the
supply of water with the need to keep the stored water fresh,
thereby removing the need for complex water treatment procedures.
The Ecoplay system works in the same way as a standard toilet
from the user’s perspective, it is totally reliable
and designed to be fitted and forgotten. The system has
passed simulated stress tests of over 20 years. The Ecoplay
system is installed as an integrated concealed cistern,
and therefore takes up little more space than the standard
